F.A.Q.
Q: Do I have to be home on pickup day?
A: Nope. Just set your bucket at the curb before your scheduled pickup time. We swap it out and move on. You never need to be present.
Q: What if my bucket isn't very full that week?
A: No problem — we pick it up regardless. Some weeks you'll have more scraps than others. There's no minimum fill requirement.
Q: What if I miss putting it out on pickup day?
A: Just keep filling it and put it out the following week. We won't charge extra. If you find you need it emptied before the next week's pickup, we can schedule a drop off here at the farm. We will exchange the full one for a clean, empty one.
Q: Does it smell bad?
A: Properly managed food scraps shouldn't smell much at all. Keeping your bucket in a cool spot and layering in dry material like paper towels or cardboard helps significantly. Your welcome guide has odor-control tips.
Q: Can I cancel anytime?
A: Yes — monthly subscription, no long-term commitment. Cancel through your account anytime. We just ask that you leave your bucket out for a final pickup so we can retrieve it.
Q: When do I get my annual give back?
A: Give back is distributed once a year to all active subscribers. We'll notify you by email when your compost and castings are ready. You must be an active subscriber at time of distribution to receive it.
Q: Do you serve my neighborhood?
A: We currently serve Jackson, TN. Sign up and we'll confirm your pickup eligibility within 24 hours. We're building routes and expanding regularly — and our "Bring a Neighbor" discount will help bring routes to your location.
Q: What actually happens to my scraps?
A: Your organics go to our farm, processed through our hot composting windrow system at 140°F+ to eliminate pathogens, aged properly, then finished with vermicomposting. The result is rich, tested compost — some of which comes back to you.
